Paper Drying: Emphasis on Energy
A recent report for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers identified paper drying as
the number one process area to save energy for the pulp and paper industry. Many mills could
save up to 34 percent of their paper drying thermal energy consumption by adopting best
available technologies in this highly energy-intensive portion of the papermaking process.
In this one and one-half hour online learning session, Robert Kinstrey of Jacobs Engineering
Group will discuss paper drying strategies, explain process changes that require little or
no capital investment and explain the best available technologies.
John Nicol of Wisconsin Focus on Energy will discuss dryer management case studies and energy
efficient repulping rotor incentives and pulp screen rotor campaign.
