How Do I Apply for a Competitive Incentive?

Download and read the instructions for the Competitive Incentive offer. Make sure that you are eligible. Also, note the deadline on the proposal.
If you do not know who your Energy Advisor is, check with Focus to find out who s/he is so that s/he can help you develop your proposal. Call 1-800-762-7077.
Proceed by developing and assembling the required project and company information. This may include energy savings calculations; documentation of financial need; a vendor proposal.
You should receive a response in as little as 10 working days from the time of submittal to find out the status of your proposal.
If your proposal is awarded a grant, you will receive a grant approval notice which you will need to sign.
Once the grant approval is signed and returned, the project may begin.
Once the project is finished, your EA will provide you with a completion notice for you to sign.
Once the completion notice is submitted to Focus on Energy your check will be processed and mailed to you.
