How Do I Apply for a Custom Incentive?

FIRST, contact your Focus on Energy Advisor (EA). If you do not know who your advisor is please call 1-800-762-7077.
Be prepared to obtain information required to determine potential energy savings associated with the project for which an incentive is sought. If a vendor or contractor has already estimated energy savings this can speed up the custom grant process, if not, your EA can assist you in determining potential savings.
Your EA will complete the necessary grant application paperwork.
Depending on the size of the potential incentive, you should receive a response in as little as 10 working days from the time the application is submitted to Focus on Energy for review. Larger incentives require greater scrutiny and may take longer.
Once the potential incentive is approved, you will receive a grant approval notice which you will need to sign.
Once the grant approval is signed, not before, the project may begin.
Once the project is finished, your EA will provide you with a completion notice for you to sign.
Once the completion notice is submitted to Focus on Energy your check will be processed and mailed to you.
