2009 Better Buildings: Better Business Conference
Award-winning actor and dedicated renewable energy advocate, Ed Begley, Jr. will deliver the keynote address at the Energy Center of Wisconsin's annual Better Buildings: Better Business Conference, March 4-6, 2009 in Wisconsin Dells. The three-day event will draw more than 750 builders, remodelers and energy experts from across the Midwest.
Begley will kickoff the conference with, Live Simply So That Others Can Simply Live, a humorous look at the benefits of living green. Touted as Hollywood's Greenest Man, Begley stars in the hit TV show Living with Ed and will be signing copies of his new book, Living Like Ed. Begley lives in a small, energy efficient house and is a leading advocate for energy efficiency and sustainable living. Begley's address supports the energy efficiency topics covered in the educational sessions of the conference program.
The conference theme, "Is the Green Revolution Leaving you Behind?" builds on research that shows consumers are willing to pay more for houses that are energy efficient and more environmentally friendly. The conference features more than 55 sessions on building and remodeling homes to be energy efficient and renewable ready, and includes sessions on business strategies for tough economic times.
In addition to the workshops, the conference features an exhibit show that connects participants with new products, technology and services. Exhibitors range from manufacturers of energy efficient HVAC equipment to building products such as insulation, lighting and diagnostic equipment and organizations that promote energy efficiency and green building practices.
The seventh annual conference, organized by the Energy Center of Wisconsin, will take place at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The conference is sponsored by more than twenty utilities, product manufacturers, service companies and others. This year's lead sponsors include Xcel Energy, Alliant Energy, We Energies, Focus on Energy, The Builders Journal, Wisconsin Energy Star Homes and Home Performance with Energy Star.
