In its recent report, “Global Warming Solutions That Work,” Environment America’s Research & Policy Center cited Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy as an example of a cutting-edge program. Focus was lauded for its efforts to keep jobs in the state and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions while saving money on energy costs.
The report specifically recognized Focus’ work with industrial facilities such as manufacturing plants. These facilities typically consume lots of energy, and Focus has been instrumental in helping these businesses identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Focus also works with schools and local governments, commercial and agricultural facilities, healthcare facilities, and other businesses. To date, Focus has helped Wisconsin businesses save nearly 700 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, 50 million therms and more than $100 million in energy costs.
