Bonus Incentives Galore for Businesses

As the weather starts to heat up, so do the incentives available through Focus on Energy. Focus has made several incentives and limited-time bonuses available to help offset energy costs during the warmer weather. Summer can also be a great time to reevaluate equipment throughout your building to make careful decisions on upgrades or tune-ups.

Chillers (available through July 30)

Cool down with bonus incentives for chiller tune-ups. Electric chillers can be expensive to operate — accounting for up to 50 percent of your summer electricity use and potentially increasing your peak-demand charges. Proper maintenance — such as a simple tune-up — can save you 5 to 10 percent on your chiller electricity cost, extend the life of your equipment, prevent expensive repairs and reduce downtime when you need cooling the most.

To apply, fill out the standard incentive application and attach the necessary invoices and bonus coupon.

Green IT (available through August 30)

Calling all IT Professionals! Looking to curb runaway energy consumption throughout your organization while maintaining high performance? As energy prices rise, more and more Wisconsin companies are looking for ways to curb runaway energy consumption in their IT equipment. Focus on Energy's "Green IT" initiative is a comprehensive approach that combines energy efficient equipment, smart energy-management software, enhanced system design and cost effective cooling systems within the equipment and the facilities in which they're located. See our complete list of incentives for details.

Plus, for a limited time, Focus is offering double the financial incentives when you take advantage of PC network energy management solutions. Focus will pay $12 per computer controlled, up to 50 percent of project costs. These software-based products allow network administrators to remotely manage several computers from one central location. For more information and instructions to apply for the bonus, visit Focus on Energy’s Green IT Web page.

Commercial Refrigeration (available through September 30)

For a limited time, Focus on Energy is offering cash incentives for the tune-up of commercial refrigeration, ensuring they are running at peak performance.

Commercial refrigeration can account for 50 percent or more of your total energy use. Proper preventive maintenance to get equipment running at peak performance can save you 5 to 10 percent on your refrigeration energy costs — money that goes straight to your bottom line. Tune-ups can also extend the life of your refrigeration equipment, identify deficient and ineffective equipment, prevent expensive repairs and reduce downtime.

For more information and instructions to apply, visit Focus on Energy’s commercial refrigeration Web page.

Lighting (available through September 30)

Last year, Focus on Energy's bonus lighting incentives were such a big hit, we've decided to bring them back for 2009. Lighting upgrades are an easy and affordable energy saver that pays for itself quickly. And now's a great time to invest in energy efficient lighting.

Bonus incentives are available when you upgrade to high-efficiency lighting solutions that save energy and money including:
  • High-efficiency, high-bay fluorescent lighting
  • High-performance T8, low-watt T8 and recessed indirect T5 lighting replacing existing T12 only
  • Energy-saving occupancy sensors
For details about this promotion, including technologies, bonus levels, terms and conditions and instructions to apply, visit Focus on Energy’s lighting promotion Web page.

Variable Frequency Drives (available through October 31)

Focus on Energy is offering bonus incentives above and beyond our standard rewards when you install variable frequency drives (VFDs) on electric motors in qualifying air handling and pump applications.

VFDs can reduce energy consumption, decrease energy costs, increase production and extend the life of electric motors. Now's a great time to invest in these energy-saving upgrades. For more information, including instructions to apply, visit Focus on Energy’s VFD Web page.

Boilers
If your boiler is old, worn out, inefficient or oversized, it may be time to replace it with a modern high-efficiency model. By upgrading to a new high-performance boiler, you could save 10 to 20 percent on your energy costs this winter — and reduce the risk of emergency repairs. Plus, now is the perfect time to upgrade — during the warmer months you have time to choose your equipment wisely. Cash incentives are available to help offset the upfront costs. For more information, visit Focus on Energy's HVAC incentives Web page.
