Focus on Energy offers financial incentives to help Wisconsin homes, farms and businesses take advantage of clean, green, renewable energy. Below you will find information about incentives and assistance for systems small and large. Whether you’re installing a system at home or at work, Focus on Energy is a valuable resource. Use the information below to educate yourself about renewable energy and determine what your next steps are.
Steps to determining if renewable energy makes sense for you:
- First, you need to determine if you are eligible for Focus on Energy financial incentives. To do so, you must be served by a participating utility in Wisconsin. To check your eligibility, please see the list of participating utilities.
- Focus on Energy recommends that you conduct a site assessment to help determine if a renewable energy system is suitable for your location. Note: Site assessments are required to qualify for wind electric installation.
- Have you made your home or business as energy efficient as possible? Energy efficiency is the first step all homeowners should take when addressing the electric and/or natural gas consumption of their home. The smaller your energy needs, the lower your monthly energy bills–and the less you’ll need to spend on a renewable energy system that’s capable of meeting your needs. That's why it's important to maximize the energy efficiency of your home or business before you purchase any renewable energy system. And now, homeowners who invest in energy-efficiency upgrades prior to installing a solar electric system may be eligible to receive enhanced financial incentives ranging from 17 to 25 percent higher than the standard Focus incentives. For details on energy efficiency incentives through Focus, please visit the Business Incentives and Residential Incentives web pages.
