American Institute of Architects (AIA) Integrated Project Delivery Guide
The Integrated Project Delivery Guide is offered as a tool to assist owners, designers and builders to move toward integrated models and improved design, construction and operations processes. The goal of the Guide is to identify the characteristics of IPD and to provide specific information and guidance on how to utilize IPD methods to achieve enhanced design, construction and operations processes.

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) - Advanced Energy Design Guides
ASHRAE, in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and the U.S. Green Building Council and with support from the Department of Energy, has developed a series of design guides that target sensible approaches to achieving 30% energy savings over ASHRAE 90.1 - 1999. Currently, design guides for small retail buildings, small office buildings, K-12 schools, and small warehouses are available. Additional guides for highway lodging, existing buildings, and small healthcare facilities are planned. Electronic versions of the published design guides are available for free at:

Architecture 2030
Architecture 2030 is a non-profit, non-partisan and independent organization whose goal is to achieve a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the building sector by changing the way buildings are planned, designed, and constructed.

This project of the U.S. Department of Energy provides background information on sustainable development and green building. It provides links to publications, programs, rating systems, and codes and ordinances affecting sustainable development.

Collaborative for High-Performance Schools
CHPS aims to increase the energy efficiency of public schools in California by marketing information, service, and incentive programs directly at school districts and designers. CHPS has a Best Practice Manual, volume 1 (Planning), volume 2 (Design - 32 pages) and volume 3 (High-Performance Criteria), and Appendices that can be downloaded for free.

DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. DSIRE allows searches of incentives by state, technology, and incentive type.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The Environmental Protection Agency provides leadership in the nation's environmental science, research, education and assessment efforts. EPA works closely with other federal agencies, state and local governments, and Indian tribes to develop and enforce regulations under existing environmental laws. The Agency also works with industries and all levels of government in a wide variety of voluntary pollution prevention programs and energy conservation efforts.

Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide
Developed to educate and assist architects, building owners, occupants, educators, students, and the general public concerning sustainable building design. The Tax Incentives Assistance Project is sponsored by a coalition of non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other energy efficiency organizations that is designed to provide information for consumers and businesses to take advantage of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficiency that were included in the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
