Solar Electric Systems

Solar electricity is Wisconsin's fastest growing renewable energy market. A solar electric system's ability to silently convert the sun's energy into clean, green electricity, combined with falling component costs, has made them a popular choice for home-owners, farms, and businesses interested in renewable energy. Today's solar electric modules are more efficient than ever and a solar electric system can easily be sized to fit your energy needs. View the list of solar electric system pricing.

Solar Hot-Water Systems

Solar hot-water systems work in tandem with your building's existing gas or electric water-heating system to turn sunshine into hot water. These systems can easily supply half of the hot water needs of the typical Wisconsin home or business, and can even be used to heat pools or water for industrial processes. They're efficient, reliable, and well proven for use in Wisconsin's climate. Track the real-time domestic hot water energy savings of five solar hot-water systems installed with assistance from Focus on Energy.

Wind Electric Systems

Today, wind turbines have become an important technology in the search for renewable, non-polluting ways to generate power. All across the Midwest, wind turbines are appearing not only on rural homes and farms, but at factories and in schoolyards as well. Today's wind turbines are efficient and reliable—the result of years of research and experience.

Biomass Combustion Systems

Wisconsin is fortunate to be home to a large, sustainable biomass resource. Forest, prairie grasses, and vegetable oil are just a few renewable biomass resources that can be used to heat our homes, businesses, and schools. In addition to being a carbon-neutral source of energy, using our biomass resources supports Wisconsin’s local economy.

Biogas Digester System

Biogas digesters (also called anaerobic digestion systems) are powerful tools for managing high-strength, organic wastes from farms, food processing facilities, and waste-water treatment plants. Wisconsin currently leads the nation in the number of operating dairy farm anaerobic digestion systems that convert cow manure into electricity. In addition to providing energy, the process also results in water quality benefits, odor control, and greenhouse gas reductions.
